Week 2 of Minnesota Business Venture has begun! We’re excited to welcome students and staff from across the state to the beautiful campus of the University of St. Thomas for a week dedicated to exploring business and building essential life skills. Today’s theme, “Dare to Dream,” sets the tone for an inspiring start, and we’re incredibly grateful to our sponsor 3M for making today possible. We extend a heartfelt thank-you for helping us create this unforgettable experience.
As students approached the campus, they were met with a warm welcome from all the incredible volunteers who helped make the transition to camp life smooth and exciting. After the opening ceremony, we were honored to open the floor to our first keynote speaker of the week: Oie Dobier!
Oie Dobier, owner of Bloomdocking, had campers challenge their dreams by practicing 3 key values: Staying consistent, courageous, and honest with oneself. She shared her dreams of travelling and how she applies these steps to reach her goals, big or small. Inspiring campers to embrace big visions and small steps.
Following Oie’s exceptional keynote speech, campers broke out into their company groups for icebreakers led by their CEO’s. As well, campers explored the campus through a scavenger hunt. To wrap the day up, campers participated in a bonding activity called “Junk Night,” where campers invent and pitch an infomercial using random objects. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week holds!
