Each year in May, BestPrep celebrates our outstanding educators and volunteers at the Annual Luncheon. The celebration brings together students, teachers, volunteers, and representatives from the corporate community to celebrate the success of the school year. Summer Programs for Students & Teachers

Looking for a great summer opportunity? Students: join us at Minnesota Business Venture! MBV is a week-long residential summer program that brings 9-12th grade students from across Minnesota together to learn about leadership, business, financial literacy, and career options. Educators: Refresh your curriculum at the Technology Integration Workshop! Join us to learn how emerging technology can enhance student engagement and lesson effectiveness during this four-day professional development opportunity. Volunteer opportunities are also available.


Schedule speakers for Financial Literacy Month

Educators and business professionals know that education at a young age can lead to good financial decisions in the future. Financial Matters, a series of financial literacy presentations designed to help students develop sound money management skills, is provided at no cost to classrooms in Minnesota. Students have an opportunity to learn about topics like money, budgeting, and credit from a volunteer financial-industry professional. BestPrep is pleased to announce that the topic for this year’s Essay Competition is now available!

BestPrep’s Essay Competition is sponsored by Thomson Reuters, and will be held in conjunction with the Educational Forum in November. The Essay topic is based on keynote speaker Angélique Kidjo’s book, Spirit Rising, and asks students to address their own views on the value of education.
For Students: The Essay Competition is open to all Minnesota students in grades 9-11 during the 2014-2015 school year. The top 20 students will receive prizes


Just in Time for Prom

Did you know that prom season to Labor Day is the most deadly driving season for teens? Insurance Matters, a presentation developed through BestPrep’s partnership with Allstate Insurance and the Allstate Foundation, helps to make teens aware of the dangers that come with texting and driving and the economic consequences of driving decisions. As we approach the deadliest days of teen driving, Allstate agents around Minnesota are ready to volunteer their time to talk with students in classrooms about the dangers of getting behind the wheel without being prepared.
