Pallu Rao
eMentors Program Associate
Pallu's main role as an eMentors Program Associate is as a liaison between the teachers, students, company coordinator and the company mentors. She also arranges the Meet and Greet at the company site along with the company coordinator. She truly enjoys this work and finds that this program is of great value to students as they explore areas of study for the future and potential career paths. Mentors have told her they find this of much interest since it keeps them up to speed with what is happening within high schools, program paths and it gives them an opportunity to reflect on their own backgrounds and experiences, and share these with their mentees.
Pallu earned a BA in Sociology and Psychology from the College of New Jersey. She lived in the Philadelphia area for more than 25 years before settling down in MN. Her work experience includes over 10 years at Peterson's in survey research and international student programs, as well as a few years at Questar in MN as a Project Manager where she managed survey research projects with DOD and the American Cancer Epidemiology Division amongst others. When she started a family, she took a break from work and volunteered at the local schools with fundraising and other related projects. Later, she worked at Edina Community Education and the Works Museum.
Pallu is passionate about volunteer work and devotes her free time to Warrior Dog Rescue, Pinky Swear Foundation and Love from America. She enjoys working in her summer garden, walking her dogs Luna and Dante in the early morning and late evening hours, and spending time with her family. She enjoys cooking different ethnic cuisines and traveling. With her one and only daughter away for college in Boston, she found a new hobby- knitting.
