Opportunity: Host a Teacher for a Job Shadow

2016 TIW participants visit Emerson for a job shadow

The Technology Integration Workshop is looking for 90-95 volunteers who are willing to host a teacher for a half-day job shadow experience. The job shadow takes place the afternoon of August 1st at the volunteer’s workplace, and there is a lunch meeting on July 31st at University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business in downtown Minneapolis. This volunteer opportunity can be shared by a group within the same organization.

Business Partner volunteers will lead a three-hour job shadow, explaining the tasks and projects they typically work on, describing the skills they use in the workplace daily, and discussing the traits needed to be successful in the modern workforce. This is a great opportunity for teachers to learn firsthand the skills students need to develop in the classroom to be successful in their future careers.

The Technology Integration Workshop is a four-day workshop for teachers interested in learning more about utilizing existing and emerging technologies to enhance lesson effectiveness and student engagement. Interested volunteers can sign up using this link. For more information, please reach out to Greg Orvik at gorvik@bestprep.org.
