We have some very important news to share about a leadership transition that’s underway at BestPrep. Our founder and CEO, Bob Kaitz, will retire in the summer of 2025 after nearly 50 years of guiding and growing this organization. We’re committed to a smooth and planful transition that ensures our continued meaningful impact on Minnesota students and educators.
Message from Bob Kaitz, CEO
“As I look ahead to retirement, I’m grateful for how BestPrep has grown from an idea to an organization that makes a real difference for students and educators across Minnesota. This success is due to the commitment of our incredible board, staff, funders, dedicated volunteers, and valued partners.
BestPrep has never been stronger, and I’m excited for the next chapter. I look forward to a thoughtful, hands-on transition with the new CEO, working closely to ensure continuity and a smooth handover. With the support of our exceptional team, I’m confident the next leader will be well-prepared to build on what we’ve achieved together, bringing BestPrep’s mission forward in new and impactful ways.”

“BestPrep’s Board of Directors has developed a thoughtful and strategic plan to ensure this leadership transition is as seamless as possible. Since July 2024, a dedicated CEO Search Committee – comprising current and former board members – has been working diligently to prepare for this new chapter.
We’re now in the active phase of our search, seeking a leader who will bring vision and dedication to carry Bob’s legacy forward. We aim to select the new CEO by early spring, with an in-depth, collaborative transition period to follow. Bob will work full-time with the new leader for three months, then remain part-time for a period to offer guidance and ensure continuity.
We are deeply committed to keeping BestPrep’s mission at the forefront throughout this process, continuing our impact on Minnesota’s students, teachers, and volunteers. This transition marks an exciting moment for BestPrep, and we’re grateful for your support and engagement in the journey ahead.”
Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter. BestPrep’s mission and focus on students remains unchanged, and together, we will keep making a difference for Minnesota’s young learners.
