Teachers Excelled During the Technology Integration Workshop

The BestPrep Technology Integration Workshop took place July 31 – August 3 with 61 teachers from across Minnesota strengthening their technology integration skills. During the Workshop, each attendee developed a technology-infused unit plan. That means that more than 7,500 students will have a more engaging classroom experience as those teachers use this newly-developed unit plan.

Participating educators also visited corporate workplaces hosted by volunteer business partners and participated in a half-day job shadow allowing them to see the inside of their workplace and understand the workflow, the environment, and culture of their business. A teacher from the Waseca School District who visited Travelers said, “I learned the connections between classroom learning and business experience. By talking with my Business Partner, I have shifted my philosophy of what the classroom is.”

Other highlights of the week including keynote presentations from Bethel University, Target, and Rockford Public Schools. Popular breakout sessions featured a variety of tech tools, websites and apps such as Code.org, MakerSpaces, and Donors Choose. On the final day, one teacher shared, “I have gained so many wonderful tools, resources, knowledge, and connections from this workshop! It is so great to see so many educators coming together to continue to develop the profession further and work toward equipping our students with academic and technological skills necessary to be successful in their future education and career!”
