From Student to Staff: Peaches Avre’s Full Circle Moment

Peaches Avre’s journey with BestPrep began in 2014 as a student from Two Rivers High School in Mendota Heights. In her AVID class, she was introduced to eMentors, BestPrep’s online mentorship program. She was paired with someone from UnitedHealth Group who gave her career advice and helped her see what was possible beyond the classroom.

That summer, Peaches attended Minnesota Business Venture (MBV), BestPrep’s weeklong summer program that teaches students about business, leadership, and financial literacy skills. Surrounded by other motivated students, she learned how to create a business plan and speak with confidence — skills that would shape her path for years to come.

She returned to MBV the following year as a Communications Specialist, sharing stories about students and camp activities through blog posts, social media updates, and photography. Capturing the energy and transformation happening each day, Peaches found her voice through storytelling and discovered a passion for communications.

In 2019, she returned as a dorm monitor and recruited some of her friends to join. Later that school year, she was selected as BestPrep’s Communications and Events Intern, gaining hands-on experience that aligned perfectly with her growing passion.

Today, Peaches is back full-time as BestPrep’s Communications and Events Coordinator, a role she began in September 2024. She not only leads events and communication efforts, but also oversees the intern and MBV Communications Specialists position she once held.

Looking back, Peaches shares, “Starting as a student and now working full-time at BestPrep, I’ve seen the power of these programs from every angle. They don’t just prepare you for your future — they help shape who you are and who you can become.”

Peaches’ story is proof of the power of opportunity. BestPrep didn’t just prepare her for success, it helped her discover who she wanted to become and gave her the platform to thrive.
