What another exciting day at Minnesota Business Venture. The students heard from Jashan Eison, the CEO and President of H&B Elevators, and his inspiring presentation on taking advantage of opportunities in career and life. Jashan spoke about how to recognize opportunities and one of the most powerful quotes he shared was by Richard Branson; “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn to do it later.” Jashan’s success came from harnessing the opportunities that presented themselves, being able to take his hard times and develop into a successful President/ CEO and giving back to his community. Jashan’s future goal is to see more African-Americans and additional cultures to partake in the construction workforce.
Thank you to our wonderful Insurance Matters speakers who spoke to MBV students on how to be more aware of the dangers of texting and driving. When so many teenagers are losing their lives because of distracted driving, it’s important to realize the consequences. Reckless actions behind the wheel put others at risk. We greatly appreciated the time and effort our volunteers put into today’s presentations. We are thankful to the Allstate volunteers – Stan Winnie, Jake Miesen, Kim Cook, Christian Hansen – who took the time to visit us and share their knowledge on being safe and smarter drivers.
