It is day 3 in the Minnesota Business Venture Week 2, 2024 hosted by BestPrep! We want to thank our sponsor for today, Cargill! The Campers started off with a morning welcome led by BestPrep intern, Daniel De La Torre. After, the campers headed to mock interviews, one of the most important activities we do at MBV. It prepares campers for future interviews they’ll have in the future while providing feedback and key tips they could remember.
Campers after headed to lunch and regrouped at the auditorium to listen to the third keynote speaker of the week, Shamus O’Mears. He is the president of Hyland Popcorn, a local St. Paul nonprofit he founded with his son, Conor, providing meaningful life and employment opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From a lawyer to a president of such a great company, Mr.O’Mears inspired the campers that if you see everyone else doing wrong, do what’s right! Another non-profit, healing the world one step at a time!
After the amazing keynote, the campers headed to various breakout rooms with topics such as finance, operations and marketing as they inch closer to the final day where they will present their business plans to real life CEO’s… Shark Tank style!
