For Phaedre Sanders, volunteering with BestPrep has never been about one moment – it’s been about consistency, commitment, and saying yes to opportunities that make a difference.
Phaedre, a Senior Tax Accountant at Ameriprise Financial, first connected with BestPrep in 2013 through her workplace. Her journey began with the eMentors program, where she has volunteered ever since. As her involvement deepened, she stepped into the role of Company Coordinator for Ameriprise, supporting students while helping guide the program from a leadership perspective. Through this work, she saw firsthand the impact of sharing knowledge, building confidence, and helping students think about their futures.

In 2024, Phaedre took another step by joining the BestPrep Emerging Leaders Alliance (BELA). She now serves as BELA’s liaison to the BestPrep Board of Directors, helping connect ideas, share updates, and support organizational goals. This role has broadened her understanding of BestPrep’s mission and allowed her to contribute at a more strategic level.
Phaedre was originally drawn to BestPrep’s focus on financial literacy and student empowerment. With her financial background, she values helping young people learn concepts many adults encounter much later. Seeing students grow in confidence continues to motivate her. As she shared, “It’s a good feeling to know that I’m a part of it.”
After more than 13 years, Phaedre remains a steady and inspiring presence. Someone who didn’t just participate once, but stayed, grew, and invested deeply in a mission she believes in.
