As new semesters are beginning, teachers are busy submitting their requests for free classroom speakers through BestPrep’s Classroom Plus and Financial Matters programs. Classroom Plus enhances students’ business and career skills. Financial Matters equips students with the tools necessary to develop sound money management skills. (Read More)
Financial Matters Volunteers, Dedication Defined
Last month, volunteers from BestPrep’s Financial Matters program gathered at Affiance Financial in St. Louis Park to receive training from financial literacy guru David Braaten. Those in attendance were all members of the Financial Matters Ambassador Speaker’s Club, which is designed to assist volunteers with the delivery of the lessons they are teaching. As members, volunteers dedicate themselves to the program by making a minimum of 3 presentations in classrooms each school year. (Read More)
Minnesota Business Venture Online Registration Opens in February
Starting next month, BestPrep’s Minnesota Business Venture (MBV) will offer online applications for students. Students may attend one of two sessions: July 14-19, 2013 at St. Cloud State University; July 28-August 2, 2013 at St. John’s University. At MBV, Minnesota students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to work in companies of 10-15, led by business professionals who help facilitate and mentor the students. (Read More)

Former U.S. Senator and Presidential Candidate to Headline BestPrep Educational Forum
BestPrep is thrilled to announce that Bill Bradley will headline the 2013 Educational Forum. The event will take place the evening of October 16th at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis. Bill Bradley has been a national leader for more than thirty years and is well known for his hard work, intelligence, candor and vision. From winning an Olympic gold medal in basketball in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, to representing New Jersey in the United States Senate from 1979 to 1997, to running for President in 2000, Bradley exemplifies America’s best qualities. BestPrep is once again offering an essay competition for high school students in conjunction with our Educational Forum. The essay will be based on Senator Bradley’s new book, We Can All Do Better. BestPrep Celebrates National Mentoring Month
January is National Mentoring Month and BestPrep salutes all of our email mentors, coordinators and teachers who make the eMentors program possible. Our goal is to provide mentorships for 3,900 Minnesota students this year. This will represent a 10% growth over last year’s involvement. (Read More)
