Today is Day Four at MBV! The theme of this day is Financial Freedom Day! This day is sponsored by Piper Sandler Companies, and it wouldn’t be possible without them!
We started our morning off with a keynote by Roya Moltaji, an entrepreneur that has created her own financial consulting company. The keynote was about ‘Money and Values,’ and emphasized the importance of budgeting and investing, especially at a young age. She talked about the compound interest affect, and that the best time to get started is now.
After the keynote, we immediately attended our breakout sessions to learn more about philanthropy and how we can incorporate some ideas into our own business plan. Students learned that many big corporations participate in philanthropy!
Soon after, students had lots of company meeting time since tomorrow will be the big presentation day. In between some company meeting time, students also participated in other breakout sessions, related to credit, investing, paying for college, and many other breakout topics held by our wonderful volunteers.
As we approach the end of the day, our students met in their company meetings to finish their presentations and add finishing touches because presentations are tomorrow! These presentations are more than just a culmination of hard work, they teach the nuances of business and essence of collaborative effort.
