2025 Student Spotlight Competition is Now Open for Submissions

The 2025 Student Spotlight Competition is now open, an exhilarating part of BestPrep’s Educational Forum event.

BestPrep’s Student Spotlight Competition is available to all Minnesota high school students in grades 9-12. This year’s theme is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and will relate to David Edelman’s keynote address given at our Educational Forum.

Submissions can be in the form of an essay, poetry, art, sculpture, or video and must respond to the prompt below. See all the details on this webpage.

Imagine you have access to a generative AI tool that can create stunning images, videos, music, and text. Prepare a response using essay, poetry, art, sculpture, or video considering the above and below questions. Take a position on the pros and cons of using artificial intelligence.

Consider the following (these are to help get started; students do not need to address all of these in their submission.)
• Promoting the benefits to society of its use rather than harm.
• Ensuring AI created content doesn’t perpetuate biases, stereotypes, harm others or spread misinformation.
• The potential to verify the accuracy of the information generated by the AI tool.
• Protecting the privacy and intellectual property of others when using generative AI.

The prompt and full details are available on our webpage.
Entries are due Wednesday, November 27th.

Top prizes include a $2,500 scholarship, MacBook, AirPods and gift cards!

BestPrep will also extend invitations to the top 20 students and their teachers to attend for the Educational Forum.
