On May 24th, 2018, 540 BestPrep supporters – teachers, students, volunteers and donors – came together to celebrate this year’s accomplishments. We were proud to honor the great work of BestPrep’s teachers, volunteers, and sponsors whose involvement is integral to our ability in helping Minnesota’s students be college prepared, work ready, and career bound. The event was highlighted by a keynote address from Kate Mortenson, President & CEO of the 2019 Minneapolis Final Four® Local Organizing Committee. Her message focused on showcasing the plan for the Minneapolis Final Four® and the positive impact it will have on our community.
We were thrilled to extend the 2018 Carpenter Teacher of the Year Award to Mary B. Toner of St. Paul Public schools, and the 2018 Larson Financial Literacy Award to Sarah Kienholz of Centennial High School. Chase Brakke of North Star Resource Group received our Bunzel Volunteer of the Year Award! And BestPrep Board Member and Principal of Como Park Senior High School, Theresa Neal, was honored with our Board Member of Distinction Award. Photos of the event are posted on Facebook.
