In an effort to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach Americans about healthy financial habits, April has been deemed Financial Literacy Month in the United States since the early 2000s. Financial Matters, a series of financial literacy topics designed to help students develop money management skills, is provided free of cost to classrooms in Minnesota by BestPrep. Students have an opportunity to learn about topics like budgeting and credit with a help of a volunteer business professional. Educators choose the topic and dates, and BestPrep will provide the volunteer.
