Cargill – Celebrating 50 Years of Supporting Youth

When the headmaster of Breck School had the opportunity to fly to Washington DC with the CEO of Cargill, Whitney MacMillan, he said he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to discuss a new educational program Breck was developing. By the time the plane landed, they had agreed on a vision that went beyond standard classroom curriculum, building upon the knowledge and experience of the corporate world.

That initial discussion in 1974 has now led to BestPrep, engaging more than 5,000 volunteers annually across six educational programs.

Cargill alone has hundreds of volunteers participating in Cargill Career Day, Cloud Coach, eMentors, Classroom Plus and Minnesota Business Venture.

According to Amanda Muñoz, a BestPrep board member and Global Communications Director at Cargill, “Our employees really enjoy volunteering with BestPrep, supporting dedicated educators and bright students who represent our future workforce.”

Cargill is one of four founding partners of BestPrep alongside 3M, Ecolab, and General Mills.

BestPrep celebrates Cargill for providing 50 years of financial and volunteer support. Cargill continues to play a critical role in our success as we prepare students to be career driven and financially capable.
