The Educational Forum on February 28th at the U.S Bank Stadium was a great success. 1,300 guests attended BestPrep’s 45th anniversary special event. Our keynote speaker, Emmanuel Acho, was the highlight of our 2022 Educational Forum. He brought his Emmy-award-winning web series and book Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man to the BestPrep Educational Forum.
Emmanuel Acho energized guests with two panels discussing social and racial injustices in our community today: one with top Diversity and Inclusion officers and another with Twin Cities high school students, both moderated by WCCO Radio host Vineeta Sawkar who was our amazing emcee for this event. Our Diversity and Inclusion panelists were Cristina Juvier from Thomas Reuters, Greg Cunningham from U.S. Bank, and Camille Chang Gilmore from Boston Scientific. Our student panelists included Emakay Dyson from Robbinsdale Cooper High School, Asha Mohamed from St. Louis Park High School, and Ezra Hudson from St. Louis Park High School.
The event also featured musical performance by youth choir Counting Stars and a surprise congratulatory video message from none other than Oprah Winfrey. BestPrep has served almost 2 million students and teachers since its founding in 1976. The 2022 Educational Forum was an amazing event and an amazing celebration for our 45th anniversary.
