Steve Berger, BestPrep Financial Matters volunteer, tragically died in the Las Vegas shooting on October 1, 2017. Steve was a financial advisor with EFS Advisors with almost a decade of service to the firm and all of his clients.
Steve volunteered as a classroom speaker, helping students improve their financial literacy and money management skills. In addition to speaking in high school classrooms, he served on the Financial Matters Ambassadors Committee charged with volunteer recruitment and training colleagues.
Julie Mundahl, Family and Consumer Science teacher at Buffalo High School, reflects, “Steve Berger spoke to hundreds of our students in my Personal Finance class at Buffalo High School to share his expertise and took time to explain the benefits and risks of investing and the importance of saving for the future. Steve significantly complemented our curriculum to share real-life examples of the time value of money. He had a gift for helping students develop a deeper understanding of finances. He made a difference and is already missed.”
Steve is survived by three children; Hannah, 15, Harrison, 12, and Harlow, 9. Please consider making a contribution to The Steve Berger Memorial Fund established in his honor.
