Today the students were honored to start their day off with a great message from guest speaker Jeff Munneke from the MN Timberwolves & Lynx. He talked to students about networking and relationships. The students learned about his 4 principles for building long term relationships and the power of asking open-ended questions. He taught them that to be successful you have to act successful and also had good advice that it is important to be interested not interesting.
After the great message from Jeff the students headed to the tundra to compete in Corporate Olympics. During Corporate Olympics there were four different stations including…
Blind Polygon:
Mine Field:
Beach Ball Race:
After corporate olympics, the next activity of the day included several breakout sessions on the topics of emotional intelligence, interviewing skills, leadership skills and presentation skills. After attending two of those sessions the students all came back together in the auditorium and within their companies they came up with open ended questions that they could ask their mentors. The RBLs rotated to different companies and the students then could ask them their questions.
After they got to ask their questions it was time to head outside to have a picnic dinner. This was a time where the students got to sit back relax and enjoy some good food before getting down to business in their evening company meetings to brainstorm their product ideas and create resumes for the mock interviews.
The rest of the night will be filled with some rec time where students have the option to swim in the pool, play basketball in the gym, hang out at the volleyball courts or watch a movie in the auditorium.
