Teachers – Link what your students are learning to their future career

Students who engage in the BestPrep eMentors program receive one-on-one guidance from a business professional mentor. High School classes are paired with caring adult mentors who they’ll email to learn about the connection between what they are learning in school and the career world. Mentors share what their job entails, their daily tasks, and the world of work. Students get to ask questions about available careers and get the opportunity to see the workplace in action.

BestPrep is currently seeking high school teachers interested in adding the eMentors program to their curriculum. Teachers oversee the program, discuss the emails in class and arrange bus transportation for a Meet & Greet event. Sign-up online.

Kate Ivers, eMentors teacher from Rockford High School, said this about the program:

“I was able to choose topics that I knew would relate directly to the topics/units I covered in class. It was a nice supplement. No matter what I tell my students, I feel like it means so much more when they hear things first-hand from a person working in the ‘real-world’.”
