More than 40 years ago, Wells Fargo and BestPrep established a partnership that has been characterized by a unique enthusiasm for championing new ideas. On many occasions, funding from Wells Fargo has served as a fundamental springboard for BestPrep to pioneer programs and advance our mission.
Wells Fargo boldly stepped up as an early partner in the rollout of BestPrep’s eMentors program, Technology Integration Workshop, and more recently, the launch of our Cloud Coach pilot at North High School. For the past 5 years, Wells Fargo Advisors has been a key partner in the implementation of The Stock Market Game.
Many individuals across Wells Fargo have served as volunteers and advocates for BestPrep, with 100-150 individuals mobilized every year. When Wells Fargo was awarded BestPrep’s Humanitarian Award in 2003, former CEO Jim Campbell accepted the award in recognition of Wells Fargo’s community involvement and commitment to educating Minnesota students. Carolyn Roby, who recently retired after her 35-year career as Wells Fargo’s regional charitable giving manager, was at the forefront of the launch of many of BestPrep’s programs and in 2016, was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her service and involvement.
Wells Fargo’s relationship with BestPrep is perhaps best illuminated in the reflections from their dedicated team of volunteers:
“It has been an honor to lead Wells Fargo’s commitment in supporting the eMentors and Cloud Coach programs. Both are ideal meaningful volunteer opportunities for working professionals who have the desire to share their experience and expertise but also need to balance community with work and family. In addition, because we live and work in a digital society, virtual mentoring just makes relevant sense,” says longtime Wells Fargo eMentor/Cloud Coach team coordinator, Christine Gensch
As BestPrep reflects on our partnership with Wells Fargo, we are reminded of the countless instances of growth and ingenuity made possible through their support. At BestPrep, we have the privilege to think ambitiously, and we are grateful for the critical role Wells Fargo has played in creating the space for vision.
