Xcel Energy CEO to Give Keynote at 2017 Annual Luncheon

Xcel Energy CEO Ben Fowke will provide Luncheon Keynote Address

Each spring, BestPrep recognizes our outstanding educators and volunteers at the Annual Luncheon. This event brings together students, teachers, volunteers, and representatives from the corporate community to celebrate the success of the school year.

We’re honored to have Ben Fowke, chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer of Xcel Energy, as the 2017 Annual Luncheon keynote speaker. For more than 30 consecutive years, Xcel Energy has provided financial and volunteer support to help students prepare for life after high school.

Fowke serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Business Partnership and Greater MSP and is an advisory board member of the Metropolitan Economic Development Association. He is co-chair of the 2016 Greater Twin Cities United Way Campaign. In 2016, President Obama appointed Fowke to serve on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, representing the energy industry.

An outstanding advocate for hiring veterans, Fowke has testified about the issue before Congress, established significant veteran hiring goals for Xcel Energy and lent his support to other veteran hiring efforts. For these efforts, Fowke was honored with the Responsible CEO of the Year award from Corporate Responsibility magazine.

The 2017 Annual Luncheon will take place at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis on Tuesday, May 23rd. Secure a table for the event by becoming a sponsor. Information on registration will be available this spring on the event website.
